Contemplative and abstract, Indian artist Nasreen Mohamedi’s spare drawings are informed by ideas of modernity and by the geometry of Islamic architecture. Accompanying the exhibition Nasreen Mohamedi: Lines Among Lines, this publication features a selection of Mohamedi’s thirty exhibited fine-line drawings created from the early 1960s to the late 1980s, as well as fifteen of her black-and-white photographs. Essays by Susette Min and Geeta Kapur highlight the exchange between drawing and photography throughout Mohamedi’s work.
