Zines have historically been the medium through which individuals, groups and marginalized communities have been able to pursue shared ideas and subjects through making and distributing hand-made publications. This zine tells the story of Suzanne Rappaport, a parentless, six-year-old girl who was smuggled across France to the mountainous region of the Auvergne. Suzanne was one of many Jewish children in France who survived the Holocaust by spending years in hiding. The recordings of her interview create a unique space to share previously unspoken thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Through her story of resilience and faith in human potential, Echoes of Auvergne documents her journey in the wake of the Holocaust.
