José Antonio Suárez Londoño: The Yearbooks

José Antonio Suárez Londoño: The Yearbooks provides an overview of Colombian artist José Antonio Suárez Londoño’s long-term project of making a drawing a day based on a book or series of books that he reads over the course of a year. Selections from fifteen years of more than sixty-five yearbooks comprise the exhibition and accompany a diverse range of texts including the diaries of Paul Klee, Franz Kafka, and Eugène Delacroix; Ovid’s Metamorphosis; W. G. Sebald’s The Rings of Saturn; and Patti Smith’s poetry. This publication includes eighty-seven selections from the artist’s yearbooks dating from 1997 to the present and a curatorial essay.
